Income generation for Peak District National Park
We carried out an income generation audit at the Peak District National Park Authority, reviewing how they pursue new commercial opportunities to generate sustainable income.
This income can be vital in maintaining service delivery going forwards, with budgets suffering over the last decade. National parks can generate new income through maximisation of existing opportunities, such as car parks and visitor centres.
We found that there was a need to develop a commercial strategy. This would align current income streams which are isolated, to allow a holistic approach in the selection of commercial opportunities.
Auditors identified that a commercial strategy would enable resources to be used more effectively, helping achieve the overall targeted level of sustainable gross income.
