Information governance can be a complex area to navigate for organisations.

Our job is to support you to manage this effectively, make your processes more efficient and ensure you are legally compliant. Information is a valuable asset and embedding a strong culture that prioritises information governance is crucial to help you achieve your organisation’s objectives. We offer a variety of information governance services to suit your organisation’s needs.

What is information governance?

Information governance is about how your organisation manages information. Good governance protects the privacy of the people you provide services to, your employees and other stakeholders. An effective information governance strategy and framework also reduces the risk of financial and reputational harm to your organisation.

Information governance is a framework which includes:

  • Records management
  • Information security
  • Data protection and GDPR compliance
  • Data breach management
  • Business intelligence

Managing information well is essential to supporting service delivery and your organisation’s overall efficiency

Since the introduction of the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2018, information governance has never been more in the spotlight. Although this renewed focus has brought important benefits to organisations seeking to make improvements, the increased awareness and pace of technological change also brings significant challenges. We support organisations to navigate this environment and mitigate risks by  protecting personal data, implementing robust governance frameworks, and managing information innovatively and effectively.

Veritau acts as data protection officer for over 600 schools and other public sector organisations. We also work with national sports governing bodies, police and crime bodies, charities and tech start-ups. We provide constructive, expert advice and support you to make improvements.
