Veritau group awarded ‘Investors in People’ accreditation

We invest in people

We are delighted to announce that Veritau has retained its Investors in People accreditation.

This award recognises that principles and practices around supporting people are in place, and everyone understands how to use them to make work better.

Commenting on the Investors in People award, our chief executive Max Thomas said:

“We’re really pleased to renew our ‘We invest in people’ accreditation. At Veritau we know our staff really value the training and development opportunities available, and it’s good to receive recognition.”

We are particularly proud of the entry-level training scheme we offer for graduates or those looking for a new career. We recruit a number of trainees each year across different areas of the business.

The programme involves studying for a professional qualification in the relevant field, and provides an opportunity for trainees to progress after two years.

About the Veritau group

We are a local government owned company providing assurance services to over 500 public sector clients. This includes:

Counter fraud
Information governance (including a DPO service)
Risk management
Whistleblowing support

Our approach is designed to combine the best of private sector flexibility and innovation with public sector commitment.

Veritau was formed in 2009, when – after close collaboration – the assurance teams at North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council came together to create Veritau Limited.

This was an innovative partnership between the two councils allowing for economies of scale in a key corporate service.

We expanded further in 2012 when four more local authorities joined us to create the Veritau group.

In 2020, we took on a further three local authority members. Today we have nine partner councils, three group companies and over 75 members of staff.
