Veritau is expanding: Middlesbrough and Redcar councils join

We’re expanding: Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and Middlesbrough Council are set to join the Veritau group

Veritau was established in 2009, initially as a partnership between City of York Council and North Yorkshire County Council, and expanded in 2012 when a number of district councils joined the group.

We now provide internal audit, counter fraud and information governance services to over 500 public sector clients.

The group is dedicated to providing comprehensive and effective assurance services to its clients. As a recognised ‘Investor in People’, Veritau prioritises training and development, and runs a graduate trainee scheme for those wishing to develop a career in assurance services.

The new service will commence on 1 January 2020 with staff from the current audit team transferring to a new Veritau group company, Veritau Tees Valley Limited.

Chief Executive Max Thomas, who was instrumental in the creation of Veritau, is delighted to welcome the new councils on board:

“Public sector service delivery has never been more challenging. The combination of increasing demand, reduced resources, technological change and the ongoing redesign of services mean the need for effective governance has never been greater.

“Our aim is to provide a range of assurance services which are cost effective, high performing and well regarded. We are pleased to welcome Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough councils to Veritau and we look forward to working in partnership with them in the future.”
